One In Seven Americans Now Admit They Are Convinced 9/11 Was An Inside Job

30 08 2011

One in seven people are convinced that the U.S. government was involved in a conspiracy to stage the September 11 attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people.

A survey, which interviewed 1,000 people in the UK and the same number in the U.S., found that 14 per cent of Britons 15 per cent of Americans think the past administration was involved in the tragedy.

They were asked: ‘It is generally accepted that these attacks were carried out by Al Qaeda. However some people have suggested there was a wider conspiracy that included the American government. Do you, yourself, believe that there was a wider conspiracy, or not?’

The belief that there was a conspiracy was more common among younger people, with a quarter (24 per cent) of 16 to 24-year-olds subscribing to the theory.

About two thirds of those polled – 68 per cent – said they didn’t think there was a conspiracy. The aftermath of the World Trade Centre which conspiracists say must have been demolished in a controlled explosion as it imploded so quickly without affecting other buildings

The survey was carried out for a BBC documentary which examines why so many people believe there is a darker truth behind the attacks.

The survey was carried out by Gfk NOP as part of a BBC Two programme, The Conspiracy Files – Ten Years On.

Telephone polls in the UK and the US  were carried out last month.

American radio host and actor Alex Jones is a vocal advocate about the conspiracy theories.

BBC Radio 2 quoted him as saying this morning: ‘Private, corporate, world networks working in US, British, Israeli intelligence – all three groups – have been found to have fingerprints but the main driver was rogue networks at the top of the US Government.

‘The Government admits they’ve staged events before. The official story doesn’t add up.’

The view is taken despite a series of official inquiries which have found no evidence to support the claims.

TOP 9/11 CONSPIRACY THEORIES

1. Why did the world’s most powerful airforce fail to intercept any of the hijacked planes?

What the conspiracists say: The US Vice President Dick Cheney ordered the military to stand down and not intercept the planes.

Official reports say: The transponder, which provides the exact location of the plane, had been turned off or changed.

There was a lack of communication between the civilian air traffic control (FAA) and the military and the military’s equipment was outdated, designed to look out over the ocean to deal with a Cold War threat.

2.  Why did the Twin Towers collapse so quickly, imploding without damaging surrounding buildings, after short fires on a few floors?

What the conspiracists say: The Twin Towers were destroyed by controlled demolitions.

Official reports say: The planes severed and damaged support columns and dislodged fire-proofing. About 10,000 gallons of jet fuel drenched the towers, starting the fires. Temperatures of up to 1,000C caused the floors to sag and the perimeter columns to bend, causing the sounds of explosions.

Controlled demolition is carried out from the bottom floors whereas this collapse started at the top.

3. How could an amateur pilot fly a commercial plane in a complicated maneuver, crash it into the Pentagon, 78 minutes after the first report of a possible hijack and leave no trace?

What the conspiracists say: The aircraft was not under the control of al-Qaeda but the Pentagon itself.

Official reports say: There is a large amount of video and still photography showing the plane wreckage and evidence of its flight path, such as broken lamp posts.

4. Why was the United Airlines flight 93 crash site at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, so small and why was the aircraft debris not visible?

What the conspiracists say: The plane was shot down by a missile and disintegrated in mid air, scattering the wreckage over a large area.

Official reports say: There are clear photographs showing aircraft wreckage and the cockpit voice recorder proved passengers had revolted and the hijackers had deliberately crashed the plane.

Another theory was based on a quote from the local coroner, Wally Miller, who said he stopped being a coroner after about 20 minutes because there were no bodies. But he also said he quickly realised it was a plane crash and there would have to be a large funeral service for the many victims.

5. How could the World Trade Centre 7 building, which was not hit by a plane, collapse so quickly (2.25 seconds) and symmetrically, when no other steel-framed skyscraper has collapsed because of fire?

What the conspiracists say: The building was destroyed by a controlled demolition using both explosives and incendiaries.

Owner, Larry Silverstein, was heard saying ‘pull it’ in a TV interview but he was talking about pulling firefighters back.

Some scientists examined four dust samples from Ground Zero and claim to have found thermite, a material which reacts when heated up, and that had been explosives rigged inside.

Official reports say: The building collapsed because of uncontrolled fires, started by the collapse of the nearby North Tower, which burnt for seven hours.

The mains water feeding the emergency sprinkler system was severed.

The thermitic material is a type of primer paint.

CONFIRMED: Libya War is CIA Op 30 Years in the Making

28 08 2011

D. Icke

Alternative media activist David Icke , who has been warning about the false nature of the “Arab Spring” since it began over six months ago, has pointed out an astounding “flashback” regarding an August 3, 1981 Newsweek article titled, “A Plan to Overthrow Kaddafi.”
‘The details of the plan were sketchy, but it seemed to be a classic CIA destabilization campaign. One element was a “disinformation” program designed to embarrass Kaddafi and his government. Another was the creation of a “counter government” to challenge his claim to national leadership. A third — potentially the most risky — was an escalating paramilitary campaign, probably by disaffected Libyan nationals, to blow up bridges, conduct small-scale guerrilla operations and demonstrate that Kaddafi was opposed by an indigenous political force.” Quite obviously this plan has been executed verbatim with the necessary addition of a NATO intervention to rescue the above stated “paramilitary” campaign from Libyan security forces – a contigency plan explicitly spelled out in another Wall Street-London subsidized, signed confession, Brookings Institution’s “Which Path to Persia?” Using Military Force to Assist Popular Revolutions, page 109-110 (page 122-123 of the PDF): ”Consequently, if the United States ever succeeds in sparking a revolt against the clerical regime, Washington may have to consider whether to provide it with some form of military support to prevent Tehran from crushing it.” ”This requirement means that a popular revolution in Iran does not seem to fit the model of the “velvet revolutions” that occurred elsewhere. The point is that the Iranian regime may not be willing to go gently into that good night; instead, and unlike so many Eastern European regimes, it may choose to fight to the death. In those circumstances, if there is not external military assistance to the revolutionaries, they might not just fail but be massacred. Consequently, if the United States is to pursue this policy, Washington must take this possibility into consideration. It adds some very important requirements to the list: either the policy must include ways to weaken the Iranian military or weaken the willingness of the regime’s leaders to call on the military, or else the United States must be ready to intervene to defeat it.” The disinformation campaign began in February as overt, now verified lies were told to the publicregarding both the nature of the uprising and the Libyan government’s reaction to it. As tank driving, jet flying battle hardened LIFG Al Qaeda mercenaries waged war against the Libyan army, the corporate media in tandem with NATO member states preparing to intervene, portrayed the uprising as peaceful placard waving activists being mowed down by machine gun fire and strafed by Libyan warplanes. Evidence now confirms no such atrocties took place, however the UN citing this intentional disinformation authroized NATO intervention. The very nature of the Benghazi rebels has been deceptively presented to the public. In fact, they are a collection of extremists and mercenaries, many of whom had been fighting recently in Iraq and Afghanistan against US forces. These mercenaries, who have been backed by the CIA and MI6 for the last 30 years (see time line), are being portrayed as an “an indigenous political force” opposing Libya’s government. It has just been recently revealed that the rebel commander attempting to seize Tripoli is none other than Abdelhakim Belhadj, an Al Qaeda asset who was previously captured by in Malaysia, tortured by the CIA in Bangkok, Thailand in 2003, before being release back in Libya where he is now fighting on behalf of NATO. Additional disinformation comes in the form of media attempts to portray Qaddafi as a rambling madman who despite the disparagement, has turned out to be one of the few heads of state speaking any truth at all regarding the conflict besieging his nation. From his earlier claims that the uprising was foreign backed Al Qaeda, to now verified claims that the rebellion was nothing more than a means to usher in a foreign occupation and the despoiling of Libya’s resources, he has been spot on. As rebels loot his home and his compound in central Tripoli, he is now being disingenuously portrayed as an opulent tyrant who hoarded state resources at the cost of his population. Betraying the duplicity of this lie is the UN’s own Human Development Index which lists Libya as one of the most developed nations in Africa and is ranked higher than many other nations including Russia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia. Quite obviously Libya’s oil wealth was put to good use, and as Libya has ensured the West’s nefarious corporate-funded NGOs were excluded from Libyan society, no other explanation for Libya’s development exists beyond the government’s own initiatives. What we are witnessing in Libya is a concerted, admitted war of aggression by corporate-financier interests who have openly conspired to carry out a campaign of military and economic conquest throughout the Middle East (and beyond), including Northern Africa and specifically including Libya. From

W. Clark

Wesley Clark’s 2007 speech, to Newsweeks’ 1981 article, we have been handed a signed confession that “our” governments are the true enemies of free humanity, masking their agenda with the thinnest veneer of moral justification, almost as if to insult the intelligence of so many who eagerly continue to empower them as they maliciously move forward. Once again, we must commit ourselves to identifying the corporate-financier interests truly driving this agenda, lurking behind the military and political leaders paraded before us as the executors of “international policy.” We must also commit to boycotting and replacing these corporate-financier interests as well as ending the recognition of any of the legitimacy they endlessly heap upon themselves.

Media Blackout: US in Yet Another Illegal War … in Yemen

27 08 2011

Airstrike Kills 8 Suspected Militants in Yemen … Officials in Yemen say an airstrike has killed eight militants in the country’s south. The officials said Thursday’s strike targeted a position held by militants with suspected links to al-Qaida in Yemen. On Wednesday, clashes between Yemeni forces and militants near Zinjibar in southern Abyan province killed at least 30 militants and seven soldiers. Militants have taken control of several areas in southern Yemen during the six-month uprising pressing for PresidentAli Abdullah Saleh‘s resignation. – Voice of America

Dominant Social Theme: The US is helping its Yemeni allies fight back against the terror threat.

Free-Market Analysis: How many wars are too many? Unnoticed largely in the press of larger events and obviously downplayed by the controlled Western media, the US and its allies are pursuing yet ANOTHER aggressive, illegal war – this one in Yemen.

How aggressive is it? It is a full-on conflict that has reportedly seen SEALS come ashore on a regular basis at night to engage tribal fighters in Abyan province, this newspaper has learned from sources in Yemen itself that are in a position to know.

The US is now involved in almost innumerable wars in the Middle East, but most have been reported in one way or another. This one has not been fully vetted as it continues to expand. Unconstitutional, secretive and expanding in scope and violence, it includes the massive, violent projection of US naval, air and Special Forces into parts of Yemen.

It is no skirmish but a coordinated, daily attack against hostile forces that supposedly include a number of “al Qaeda” (whatever they are) protected by local tribesman in the south of Yemen who have rebelled against President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s regime. It involves considerable military effort and expenditure of what must be a US task force that includes sea, air and land power.

Despite the new war’s massive scope, the major media and Congress remain culpably silent on this latest war (is there any other word for it?) even though such a massive military campaign must be well known to top power players in the media, in politics, in the intelligence community and obviously in the Pentagon itself.

This war is at least two months old, but its violence and aggressiveness have remained unreported until now. It has already resulted in the death of numerous civilians, including women and children. These deaths have gone unreported as well.

It is true that there have been a number of GENERAL reports on this new conflict but the scope and aggressiveness of this new war remain unstated. Those who live in Yemen – some 25 million people – are aware that the US is operating with impunity on Yemen’s Southern flank, but the rest of the world does not know. Those in positions of power are obviously too frightened or too careful to comment.

The evil of unrestrained violence projected from what was once a US republic continues to expand; the evil of secret wars, secret violence, secret civilian deaths is a corrosive acid that eats away at civil society until the citizens of the West themselves will be exposed to the ruin they are currently visiting on other countries. The danger is not just to “terrorists” overseas but also to anyone who wishes to retain what is left of Western civilization.

In fact, the rights of those who reside in the US republic continue to degrade as the US and the West continue to pursue a phony war on terror. It is no accident in our view, but seemingly a malicious policy pursued by the world’s top banking families – the power elite – in hopes of abrogating what remain of the rights of US citizens to understand and shape the military and political policies of their own country.

It is as well an abrogation of the US Constitution to regularly invade another country’s shores without Congress holding a debate and declaring war. This is not merely a skirmish or “fly over” but a full-on military confrontation and it is one that has larger ramifications economically.

If Yemen is destabilized, Bahrain and eventually Saudi Arabia itself could become embroiled in domestic turmoil, which many observers believe could eventually end the fragile Saudi regime – the House of Saud. The Saud monarchy recently passed a law making it illegal for anyone to criticize a member of the Saud ruling family. Jail is to be the result, up to five years or more.

A failed Saud regime would likely collapse the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. The results would make the financial turmoil from the current downgrade of US Treasuries look minor, indeed. The failure of the US dollar reserve could create a world depression of the sort that has not been seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Nonetheless, a variety of forces are acting on the core of the Middle East to destabilize it. There are some, in fact, who suggest that President Saleh purposefully allowed the Southern tribes to rebel to pressure the West into supporting his failing government. But as is seemingly always the case, once the initial strategy has been implemented, the conflict spirals out of control.

What may have begun as a pressurizing strategy now threatens to destabilize the entire Southern area of Yemen and cause at the very least a schism between North and South. Perhaps this could result, as in the past, in disunion between North and South. Saleh himself came to power based on his ability to unify the North and South some 30 years ago. Now Yemen looks to be disintegrating.

The current round of military actions are being carried out in conjunction with Saudi Arabia, which increasingly serves as a proxy for US power in the region. Saudi aircraft are supposedly bombing in Abyan along with US planes. The Yemeni air force is not so involved as its pilots apparently proved ineffective in comparison with Saudi and American air power.

The secret war is being carried out in conjunction with the headless government of President Saleh who now resides in Saudi Arabia after having been blown up in a mosque in Yemen and undergoing at least six separate operations for burns and for lung and chest injuries.

Reports are rife in Yemen about the US’s newfound aggressiveness, which is over two months old but as yet unreported by a single mainstream media outlet. Not only are US “boots on the ground,” day and night a US carrier group pours missiles into the Abyan region, causing the abandonment of large parts of at least one major urban center there.

Planes are launching regular attacks from an aircraft carrier off the coast of Abyan, in addition to the unmanned drones flyover missions. This is a coordinated and massive military action and one of grave import that should have given rise to public debate in the US Congress. But there is only silence as the US military-industrial complex carries out its hostilities.

The gravity of such an engagement is obvious, given that wars once engaged can go on for years, even decades. The US is struggling with economic failure and social unrest. The addition of another apparently major war in the Middle East is a burden that citizens should willingly share if the need is great enough and the threat severe enough.

But there has been no discussion of adding yet another major war to the military actions now being conducted by the US and NATO in such countries Libya, Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan and Syria.
Elite elements of the West’s military, intelligence and political establishment are entirely out of control, it would seem. The determination to project power anywhere and at any time is eroding even the frailest of constraints on powerful men who operate at the behest of the global banking establishment.

Conclusion: The purposeful degradation of civilization itself is apparently the aim of the elites. The goal is world government. Out of chaos, order. With secret, illegal, unconstitutional wars like the one in Yemen, this goal is advanced. The gravity cannot be overstated. The mounting recklessness and lawlessness of these actions provide evidence that opposition to freedom and civil society – embedded in mainstream Western institutions themselves – grow ever more bold.

Obama to Approve ‘Al-Qaeda Embassy’ in Washington: State Department sympathetic to recognizing rebel terrorists who killed U.S. troops

1 08 2011

Paul Joseph Watson, writing for Prison Planet.com

Thursday, July 28, 2011 The Obama administration is preparing to follow Britain in recognizing the rebel National Transitional Council as the official government of Libya by approving an embassy in Washington DC, which given the fact that the rebel army is spearheaded by Al-Qaeda militants who have killed U.S. troops would equate to Obama handing terrorists a diplomatic outpost on U.S. soil. “The United States said Wednesday it was reviewing a request by Libya’s rebels to open an embassy in Washington, following Britain which expelled diplomats from Moamer Kadhafi’s regime,” reports AFP. State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters that the U.S. would be “sympathetic” to the request, after which rebel supporters unfurled their flag outside the embassy where Gaddafi’s regime is still in control. The United States formally recognized the rebel council as the country’s legitimate government earlier this month, despite the fact that the rebel army is spearheaded by Al-Qaeda terrorists who are supposedly the target of a multi-decade “war on terror” that is now in its tenth year and has cost the U.S. a staggering $5.4 trillion since 9/11. Shortly after the start of the conflict in March, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the leader of the anti-Gaddafi rebel army, admitted that the rebel ranks include Al-Qaeda terrorists who have killed U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Al-Hasidi described the fighters as “patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” adding that “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”. The Telegraph confirmed that Al-Qaeda fighters had joined with anti-Gaddafi rebels in a story entitled, Libya: the West and al-Qaeda on the same side, in which Richard Spencer writes how, “WikiLeaks cables, independent analysts and reporters have all identified supporters of Islamist causes among the opposition to Col Gaddafi’s regime, particularly in the towns of Benghazi and Dernah.” Although NATO and the U.S. admit that “flickers” of Al-Qaeda members have infiltrated rebel ranks, in reality, they are leading the anti-Gaddafi forces in several areas of the country. As the Wall Street Journal reported in a piece entitled, Ex-Mujahedeen Help Lead Libyan Rebels, Al-Qaeda terrorists who worked directly for Bin Laden are recruiting, training and acting as front line field commanders for the rebel army. Abdel Hakim al-Hasady, an influential Islamic preacher and high-school teacher who spent five years at a training camp in eastern Afghanistan, oversees the recruitment, training and deployment of about 300 rebel fighters from Darna. Mr. Hasady’s field commander on the front lines is Salah al-Barrani, a former fighter from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which was formed in the 1990s by Libyan mujahedeen returning home after helping to drive the Soviets from Afghanistan and dedicated to ousting Mr. Gadhafi from power. Sufyan Ben Qumu, a Libyan army veteran who worked for Osama bin Laden’s holding company in Sudan and later for an al Qaeda-linked charity in Afghanistan, is training many of the city’s rebel recruits. Former jihadist Noman Benotman, who renounced his al Qaeda affiliation in 2000, said in an interview with the Washington Times that he estimates 1,000 jihadists are in Libya. Referring to the fighters as “freelance jihadists”, Benotman said that the men were part of a North African terror cell known as Al Qaeda in the Islamic Mahgreb (AQIM), and have completely infiltrated the rebel army. A 2007 West Point report indicated that the Benghazi-Darnah-Tobruk area of Libya is a world capital for Al-Qaeda or mujahideen suicide bomber recruitment. Author Webster Tarpley details this intelligence in his excellent analysis piece, The CIA’s Libya Rebels: The Same Terrorists who Killed US, NATO Troops in Iraq. Western intelligence agencies have also utilized their links with Libyan Al-Qaeda cells to target Gaddafi in recent history. In 2002, French intelligence experts revealed how western intelligence agencies bankrolled a Libyan Al-Qaeda cell controlled directly by Osama Bin Laden to hatch a plot to kill Gaddafi that was foiled in March 1996. The cell was led by Anas al-Liby, who was with Bin Laden in Sudan before Bin Laden returned to Afghanistan. Indeed, it was Gaddafi’s Libya who put out the first Interpol warrant for Bin Laden’s arrest in 1998. Western intelligence agencies blocked the warrant from being pursued, allowing Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda to go on and kill more than 200 people in the truck bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Some of the very rebels now being funded, trained, and offered embassies by Britain and the U.S. were part of the Al-Qaeda cell that tried to kill Gaddafi on behalf of the United States and Britain 15 years ago. On Wednesday, Britain expelled Gaddafi’s diplomats and announced that it would be unfreezing $150 million dollars in Libyan oil revenue that would be used to directly fund the rebel army, abandoning any pretense that the intervention of NATO powers had anything to do with “humanitarianism,” which was the reason provided for the war back in March. In recognizing Al-Qaeda led Libyan rebels who don’t even control the majority of Libya, and have virtually no control over key areas, as the official government, both Britain and the US are completely rewriting hundreds of years of diplomatic protocol. While producing fearmongering videos which characterize white middle class Americans as the primary terror threat, the federal government is simultaneously about to hand an organization infiltrated and in some cases led by Al-Qaeda terrorists its own embassy inside the United States. Having violated the constitution by ignoring his own lawyers in launching the war without congressional approval, Barack Obama is now directly aiding and abetting Islamic terrorists, breaking his oath to protect America against foreign belligerents by literally inviting the enemy within the gates. If this isn’t a solid case for the impeachment of Barack Obama, then nothing is.
